The Dr. Saul Community Center is our main community building that is on the Historic Register. It was built in 1939 as part of Roosevelt's New Deal WPA project.
The Dr. Saul Community Center is available for weddings, dances, and other events that require a large space.
New Price Rates for The Dr. Saul Community Center
Community Building Hourly Rate: $15 per hour, plus $100 cleaning deposit (Cleaning deposit returned if building is left in clean condition.)
Community Building EVENT Rate: $200 Rental Fee, plus $150 cleaning deposit Cleaning deposit returned if building is left in clean condition.)
Community Building Annual User Fee for Individuals: $25 (paid once for a 12 month period)
Community Building Annual User Fee for Family (immediate household members): $40 (12 month period)
"Events" are considered weekend events that either are held on Friday or
Saturday. The key for the buildings is to be picked up at Mountainair City Hall on the Thursday prior to the event at 1:300 p.m. If you choose to get the keys earlier, then you will be charged the hourly rate. Any other "events" that take place during the week or are considered "week long events" need to be approved by the Mayor or Town Clerk. The amount will be discussed with the Mayor for a "week long event". Any other facilities not mentioned above are to be discussed with the Mayor or Town Clerk for approval and price.
These prices are taken into consideration because of the electric/water/gas monthly bills. The prices may be changed in the future due to rising/declining gas and electric rates. hourly Rates apply only during working business hours of City Hall. Closed on all national holidays. Need approval from Mayor or Town Clerk for any other times.
A Town of Mountainair still requests that a Contract Agreement be signed and rules be followed as stated.
